Due to works in Izola Harbor, that shall not be finished before October 16, 2009, we are forced to move the Fireball Slovenian Championship 2009 to sailing club JK Pirat, Portorož, Obala 7.
All other information in Notice of Race remains unchanged.

| Grand Nationals 2009 |

This year the Grand National is held during the Swiss National Championship in Bevaix at the lake of Neuchâtel, September 10-13. I would like you all to promote this championship in your NCA, in particular the close-by countries, France, Italy, Slovenia and Czech Republik. There will not by any levy that sailors have to pay and there is a perpetual trophy (Winder trophy). It would be great to see some of the foreign sailors at the event.
Bevaix is a nice little village at the lake of Neuchâtel. This lake can have a good brise when there is a front coming or when the North Easterly (die Bise) is blowing. Please look at the information on the website (http://club.swiss-sailing.ch/fireball/ click onto “Fireball SM 2009 in Bevaix”. The notice of race is available in German or French.
It would be great to see many of your teams in Bevaix. The Swiss are very much be looking forward to seeing you soon.

Dear sailors,
Winter season is almost over as days are getting more and more warmer, last days up to 20°C. Preparations for new sailing season are in final phase, this season we are expecting five new boats and we also added new race in calendar on lake Velenje.
Season will start with traditional lectures on primary school called Prule. Lectures will cover next themes sailing rules, sailing tactics and fitness preparations.
Firs race in season will start in Portorož on 19th April with “Spring cup”, season we will finished with traditional Slovenian championship in Izola on 17 to 19th October. Complete race schedule is available here… |

| Spring training in Zadar |

Sailing club JK Fireball will organize spring training in Zadar with start on 29th April and end on 3rd May. We are expecting to have from 10 to 14 fireball boat with some entrance from other dingy classes.
Location of camp is in Sv.Peter, 10km away from Biograd.

for traditional Bohinj race ther are activities going for preparing race. On race course we will sail along with FJ class also with international competitiors. Notice of race is also perareda and you can download it here

| The third Fireball regatta this year was held in the bay of Izola on May 26 and 27 in JK Burja. This was for the first time in the new era of Fireball in Slovenia since 1998, that we were invited to compete in organization of maybe the No.1 sailing club in Slovenia JK Burja. Again 12 teams appeared. Nice weather and changing wind conditions (wind direction changed from N to S and from 6 up to 14 knots) made our sailing very exiting. The first place over all won SLO 14252 Slekovec Mahkota and the first place among Silver Cup teams won SLO 14392 Peckaj Peckaj. SLO 13277 Hočevar Petovar, the team with the longest history among Slovenian teams, took advantage of the demanding wind conditions and placed itself high in some races |

| The second Fireball regatta this year was held again in the bay of Piran on April 21 and 22. The whether was very nice, temperature above 20 degrees and gentle see (NW) breeze up to 7 knots. 11 teams appeared. It seems that the fleet is very equal this year. Nevertheless, the teams from the coast prevail. The first place over all won SLO 14252 Slekovec Mahkota and the first place among Silver Cup teams won SLO 14392 Peckaj Peckaj. |

| Regatta Spring Cup |

The first Fireball regatta this year was held in the bay of Piran on March 24 and 25 in JK Pirat. The were 6 sailing classes on the water (470, Fireball, Laser, Laser Radial, Europe and Optimist). Snow in central Slovenia and nice bora on Sunday up to 20 knots. Despite of that 12 teams appeared. The first place over all won SLO 13861 Jadek Jr. Planisic and the first place among Silver Cup teams won SLO 13941 Gabron Gabron.
